PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency Program
General Information:
The PGY1 Pharmacy Residency (ASHP-accredited) gives experience in a broad area of pharmacy practice, including:
o Administration
o Ambulatory Care
o Cardiology
o Critical Care
o Drug Information
o Emergency Medicine
o Infectious Disease
o Internal Medicine
o Oncology
o Ortho/Neuro
o Pediatrics/Neonatology
o Psychiatric Care
Teaching Opportunities:
Our residency program is connected with Washington State University College of Pharmacy (about 30 miles to the west) and the Idaho State University College of Pharmacy, with an ISU faculty member on staff and distance learning technology available. Residents will serve as a pharmacy student preceptor during some rotations. A Teaching Certificate program is available. Our pharmacy residents also have the opportunity to work closely with the medical residents and faculty of Kootenai Health’s Family Medicine Residency.
Projects & Research:
Plenty of resident projects will be available, including a major project.
