PGY1 Community-Based Pharmacy Residency Program at Terry Reilly Health Services

Program Overview: Our PGY1 Community-Based Pharmacy Residency is an ASHP-accredited program conducted by Terry Reilly Health Services (TRHS) here in the heart of the Treasure Valley (Southwestern Idaho). Our program provides a unique patient-centric, interdisciplinary outpatient setting that not only incorporates elements of community pharmacy practice but also disease state management, transitions of care, and medication therapy management.

  • Starting Date: Last week of June
  • Duration/Type: 12 month/residency
  • Number Positions: 2 (one resident per site)
  • Interview Required: Yes

Program Purpose: To build upon the doctor of pharmacy education and outcomes to develop community-based pharmacist practitioners with diverse patient care, leadership, and education skills who are eligible to pursue advanced training opportunities, including postgraduate year two residencies and professional certifications.

Training Site Overview: TRHS is a nonprofit organization in Southwest Idaho that offers comprehensive healthcare services to individuals and families of all backgrounds and income levels, ensuring that high-quality care is accessible to all. The community-based PGY1 pharmacy residency is offered at 2 facilities within our network of TRHS clinics that will support one resident each. The home clinics are at the following sites:

  • Nampa 1st in Nampa, ID
  • Meridian Florence in Meridian, ID

Program Requirements:

  • Must be a graduate of an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy
  • Must meet all the requirements to qualify for licensure in Idaho
  • Participation in the following pharmacy conferences (subject to change based on necessity):
      • ISHP Fall Conference
      • ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting
      • Mountain States Conference 
  • Monthly forum meetings with other area residents 
  • Precept pharmacy students
