The PGY1 Rural Community Residency is ASHP accredited and was established in June 2013 with the first pharmacy residency graduate in 2014. The community-based program at Idaho State University is designed to intentionally develop graduates with the skills necessary to independently (1) create novel clinical services; (2) evaluate sustainability of non-dispensing services in community pharmacy; (3) advocate for the profession through individual leadership and service; and (4) practice as advanced clinicians. Graduates from this program are qualified to pursue PGY-2 training in Ambulatory Care and enter clinical practice in outpatient care settings.
