This course provides a brief overview on steps to expand pharmacist-provided health services and the elements of coding for non-dispensing services. It also offers cases to practice selecting Evaluation & Management (E&M) codes.

Objectives: Recognize general steps in expanding pharmacist-provided services with reimbursement. Describe the elements of a professional service coded on a medical claim. Know the difference between medical-decision making vs. time-based coding. Determine when to use codes for new vs. established patients. List codes that can be used for pharmacist-provided health services. Given a case, choose the E&M code.
